SRI LANKA

Sri Lanka is an island in the Indian Ocean, situated 7 degrees above the
equator and commonly referred to as the “Pearl of the Indian Ocean”
Formally called Ceylon, Serendib, Taprobane, Thambapanni the country is
home to 22 Million inhabitants.
Geopolitically the country has 9 provinces that are further divided in to 25
Districts.

FLIGHTS

Sri Lanka has three international Airports, with most flights flying into the Bandaranayake International Airport (BIA). The other two airports are south of the BIA and located in Ratmalana (RML) and in Mattala (MRIA).

Currency is Sri Lankan
Rupees and other major
foreign currencies are
accepted at all major hotels.

VISA

Visa Policy for Indians: ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) required.

Visa Policy for Other Nationals: ETA required for many countries.

 

TRANSFERS

ROAD WAYS

•Best way to see the country is to travel by road & rail. Public transport system is good with services running throughout the day and night.

TRAIN TRAVEL

Travel by train is recommended to be conducted in advance due to limited number of seats & Sri Lanka Railway providing online booking facility.

DOMESTIC FLIGHT

Domestic Air travel network consists of both land and sea operations operated by private airline operators in
tandem with Sri Lanka Airforce.
